He has been working in the bioenergy field for the past 10 years and published 14 papers in most reputed American Chemical Society (ACS) journals and other high impact factor journals. He had done his PhD in microbial fuel cell (MFC) from 2011-2014 at Malaysian Government University (University Malaysia Pahang), Malaysia under renowned Prof Md Maksudur Rahman Khan. During his PhD, he had received prestigious GRS and DSS Scholarship from Malaysian Government. He had received several international awards, to specific, Gold medal for his project in CITREX Research exhibition held in Malaysia, Most Excellent Paper Award for his work in Singapore and Best paper award in the conference held in Tokyo, Japan. His PhD research work was focused on the influence of inoculum and biofilm formation on the performance of MFC. Based on his research, he had developed the controlled inoculum to achieve high performance in MFC. From 2015-2017, he had worked as Post-doctoral fellow at University Malaysia Pahang and guided several PhD and Master students of Prof. Md Maksudur Rahman Khan and foreign exchange students. During his post doc tenure, he had worked on biofilm revitalization, synergistic interactions between microorganisms, ultrasound treatment for stable power generation. He had developed the high performance microbial fuel cell and filed the Malaysian Patent in his post doc tenure. He had also written a book chapter along with Prof Domenico Pirozzi on Single cell oils in 2018 and published in Springer Nature. He is also expertise in PHB extraction and purification methods especially PHB production from Jatropha oil. His current interests are Dry fermentation, Cost effective Bioplastics, Biofilm revitalization to achieve stable performance in MFC and production of value added products from MFC. 

Dr. K. Sangeetha M.Sc., Ph.D

Dr. K.Sangeetha has specialization in Microbiology and completed her doctoral degree under University of Madras. She has 10 years of teaching and research experience in various institutes. She has worked as Junior Research Fellow on DBT Project and Research Associate in Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility centre of DBT .She has published 22 research articles in SCI and Scopus indexed journals  and a book chapter . She has 3 Indian patents granted on different novel combinations of drugs for the treatment of Chikungunya and Dengue virus. She qualified the State Eligibility test for Lectureship in 2012 for Life sciences and to her credits, also the University rank holder in both UG and PG. Her research interest is on the development of antivirals and understanding the pathogenesis of arboviruses. She is also acting as reviewer in a few SCI  indexed journals.

Dr. P. Gokul, M. Tech., Ph.D.

He has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology in Saveetha School of Engineering since June 2019 till present. He completed his bachelor degree in Biotechnology and M.Tech., Medical Nanotechnology in 2010. He worked as a Research Analyst in the Quantum NanoScientific Pvt., Ltd.,. During his tenure he visited South Korea as a scientific assistant and published papers in RSC chemical communications. He completed Ph.D in Nanotechnology and published 10 papers in international journals with a cumulative impact factor of 31.087. His research field is Drug delivery and Bio imaging.

Dr. S. Suji  M.Sc., Ph.D.,

She has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Saveetha school for Engineering since March 2021. She started her journey in research from January 2010. She obtained her Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology and Biodiversity from Univeristy of Madras, Chennai. She has a Research experience of 7 years. Before joining here she was working as research fellow in Plant molecular biology laboratory, M.S.Swaminathan research foundation. She is specialized in plant molecular biology. She had authored 5 research articles  in various International SCI Indexed journals with cumulative impact factor of 16. During her tenure, her research interest was to explore the role of HKT1;5 a sodium transporter related to salinity stress tolerance.  Her area of research interest includes salinity stress tolerance.

Dr. J. Santhoshkumar M.Sc., Ph.D.,

Dr. Santhoshkumar J earned his M.Sc., (Biochemistry) from Periyar University, Salem, India with First class and Ph.D. from the School of Biosciences and Technology, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India. He has attended several International Conferences and Symposia in India. He has published 23 research papers in refereed international and National Journals and presented many papers in National and International Symposia/Conferences. The integrated approach has remained one of the distinguishing aspects of Dr Santhoshkumar J original and path-breaking contributions towards the revolutionary growth for nanobiotechnology and environmental sustainability in India and indeed the world. He has further studied the influence of various environmental factors on nanomedicine, realizing that this area of research will assume far greater importance in future in view of the depleting resources of antibiotics. His prominent progress and contributions have been making a significant impact among NGO’s, farmers, students, and entrepreneurs and policymakers to join the global coalition dedicated to protecting the environment.

Dr. Mohan Chokkalingam M.Sc.,M.Phil.,Ph.D

Dr. Mohan Chokkalingam is serving as an Assistant Professor in Saveetha School of Engineering, SIMATS, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He completed Ph.D. in the field of Biotechnology from Kyung Hee University, South Korea. He is having more than one decade of experience in research with the Institute of National Importance Institutes, IISc and International university. His Research and Development collaboration with Panasonic Corporation Pvt Ltd, Japan. He has more than 15 articles in Scopus/SCI-indexed journals/conferences to his credit. His research interests include Nanobiotechnology, Environmental biotechnology

Dr. L. Senthilnathan M.Sc.,Ph.D

Dr. L. Senthilnathan is actively engaged in Marine Ecology, Coastal Resource Monitoring, and Remote Sensing. With 13 years of dedicated research experience and 8 years of teaching expertise, he earned his M.Sc and Ph.D. in Ocean Science & Technology from Annamalai University, Chidambaram. Additionally, he successfully completed an advanced level GIS application certificate course sponsored by NNRMS-ISRO at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. He has undertaken noteworthy research projects, including the DST-SERB-sponsored initiative on coral recruits in Palk Bay spanning three years. His contributions extend to 19 research publications in reputable journals, covering diverse topics such as coral resilience, shoreline demarcation, and nitrate variability using remote sensing. Beyond academia, he possesses practical experience in oceanographic instrument deployment and scientific cruises. As a lifetime member of esteemed professional societies, including the Indian Society of Remote Sensing and the Marine Biological Association of India.

Miss. Sowmiya, a dedicated researcher in the Department of Environmental Biotechnology at Saveetha School of Engineering, is currently pursuing a Ph.D under the guidance of Dr. K. Sangeetha. With a solid academic background, she holds an M.Sc. in Microbiology and a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT). Her doctoral research focuses on the molecular characterization of resistance genes isolated from diabetic foot ulcers. This intricate work involves delving into the genetic aspects of microbial resistance within these ulcers, providing valuable insights into the mechanisms at play. Furthermore, A. Sowmiya's research extends to the design of novel drugs, a crucial aspect in addressing challenges associated with diabetic foot ulcers. By combining her expertise in microbiology and molecular biology, she aims to contribute to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies.

Bevin Nishanth is a dedicated and accomplished biotechnology enthusiast who recently completed a Master's degree in Biotechnology at Loyola College, Chennai. With a diverse background, he has gained significant experience in molecular research, data analysis, and in silico studies. His passion for scientific exploration is exemplified by his Student Project Scheme, "Developing Salinity Tolerant Varieties of Finger Millet (Eleusine coracana) from Southern Parts of India," which has been granted by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (Project Code: AS-438). He is known for his unwavering commitment to excellence in all endeavors and possesses a versatile skill set that encompasses technical and soft skills crucial to the field of biotechnology. Now, as a research scholar under the guidance of Dr. S. Suji at Saveetha School of Engineering, his focus is on abiotic stress, utilizing innovative approaches such as epigenetics to further advance scientific understanding and contribute to the field's progress.
